A Cat Post: The Moopsy
So, as those of you who have followed me for awhile, you may know that I’m a dog lover, and be wondering why you’re looking at a photo of a cat here. Well it is going on 4 years now that I had to put my darling Buster Beagle down, and I’m starting to get to the point I feel like I’m ready to love again, I’m ready to have my heart broken (in the hopefully distant future) again.
However, with my lifestyle these days, I wasn’t sure the idea of getting a dog was a great idea as I wouldn’t be able to take them to work all the time. Cat people are frequently talking about how independent cats are, and as it happened, some friends were looking to rehome one of their cats, and so we decided to bring her to live with us.
Have I also, ever mentioned that I’m a bit of a Star Trek fan?
I’m not the biggest fan out there, by any means, I’ve never been to a Con, I haven’t seen every single episode of every series in the franchise, but my BFF and I do have matching BFF tattoos with the Delta Shield on our forearms and I LOVE the Lower Decks series which is, very sadly, coming to an end this year. But! One of the most hilarious characters that was introduced last season was “The Moopsy”. The Moopsy is basically a creature that looks like a cat mixed with an axolotl. And she will drink your bones!
And when Moopsy first arrived, she hid from us for the first day, then we discovered she was in heat. And on top of that, she seemed pissed! I didn’t know that animals, besides human, are actually capable of stomping around the house.
You can see it in her eyes… figurin’ things out!
She’s since softened up (Especially as she’s been spayed) and has brought new joy to us every day. I’ve never really been a cat person, but I’m glad that I am now. I think I need to try to go for my Feline Portraiture Accreditation now!
